A warm welcome to RAOS Musical Theatre Company
The Ripon Operatic Society was founded in 1940. Originally the Society only produced works by Gilbert & Sullivan…but don’t worry - that’s all changed!
With a growing community and an exciting repertoire to our back catalogue we have changed our name to represent who we are today: RAOS Musical Theatre Company!
We have a growing membership of over 150 individuals of all ages, with a rich history of producing musical theatre in both Ripon and Harrogate. Spring performances at Harrogate Theatre and an Autumn fundraising concert at our own venue the Ripon Arts Hub means there is always something happening to get involved with!
RAOS is made up of two talented groups; RAOS the main society for those aged 16-80+, and the Ripon Youth Theatre for individuals aged 8-18 (click below for more info!)
Perform with us!
We are always interested in new members, and always welcome a helping hand from anyone who wants to be involved in this wonderful community.
We have two types of membership:
RAOS Friend Membership £20
RAOS membership £60
So if you have a passion for musical theatre and would like to get involved on or off stage then click here for membership enquires or click below to sign up straight away!
Our Next Show…
From the company that brought you ‘Calendar Girls’ and ‘Sister Act’, they are returning to their home ground and beautiful performance space at the Ripon Arts Hub with Sunshine on Leith - the musical!
Sunshine on Leith follows the highs and lows of Ally and his friend Davy as they search for nomality after returning from a tour in Afghanistan. Families, friendships and life are not all plain sailing in this funny and moving story about love and life.
And Next Year…
From the company that brought you ‘Calendar Girls’ in 2023 and ‘Sister Act’ in 2024, they are returning to the beautiful Harrogate Theatre stage in April 2026!
9 TO 5 THE MUSICAL tells the story of three women pushed to boiling point by their sexist and egotistical boss. Concocting a plan to kidnap and turn the tables on their despicable supervisor, will the ladies manage to reform their office – or will events unravel when the CEO pays an unexpected visit? Inspired by the iconic 80’s film and brought to you by Dolly herself, this hilarious new West End production is about teaming up, standing up and taking care of business!
