RAOS Musical Theatre Company’s younger partners of the stage…Ripon Youth Theatre!

Ripon Youth Theatre (RYT) runs on Saturday mornings and has over 50 members aged between eight and eighteen from the City and surrounding areas. Here, young people are given the chance to work on the musical theatre skills of singing, dancing and acting as well as taking part in activities such as trips to see professional shows.

RYT also takes its social responsibilities very seriously. Members pay a nominal fee each term to cover the use of facilities, but the group also has funds in place to ensure no member will miss out on the chance to participate fully due to financial circumstances and the group is entirely run by volunteers.  But of course, the main reason its members take part is to perform and this is where the group have really shone.

Following the successes of ‘The Wiz’ in 2012, ‘Joseph’ in 2013, ‘Hairspray’ in July 2014, RYT followed up with their most expansive production yet of  ‘Cats’ in 2016.

Last year they performed in our very own Ripon Arts hub their production of ‘Joseph’ and this year we are excited to announce they will be performing ‘Matilda’ the Musical!
